How we check the rules
A wrong date on a page like this can cost someone a semester, so the facts are handled differently from the writing.
Sources
Every rule comes from the university's own website or policy library. We keep a copy of each page on the day we read it. The site currently covers 16 universities with 73 rule pages, drawn from 117 official pages.
Checking
Each fact on a rule page is stored with the exact passage it came from, and the build stops if that passage can't be found in the saved page. Each page then goes through a separate review against those sources before it is published. If an official source doesn't give a time limit, we say so and don't estimate one.
Dates
Every page shows the date it was checked. Rules can change after that date, and faculties or courses sometimes have their own versions. If your letter or the university's current page says something different, that's the one that applies.
What we leave out
We don't publish success rates, sample excuses, or anything about how to get around a rule. We don't ever suggest inventing a reason or altering evidence. Doing that can turn a small problem into a misconduct case.
Corrections
If you spot a rule that's out of date, email contact@graduate.help with the page and the official link.
AI use
AI models help draft the plain-English explanations and answer questions in Rule Check. The facts are checked against the saved official text, as described above.
